April 19, 2020: The stars of the open water illuminate Naples. The International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame has in fact chosen the Campania capital to host, for the first time in Italy, the 2022 edition of the annual award ceremony of the protagonists of open water swimming. The international organization thus intended to reward the city where the most fascinating competition between the international swimming marathons takes place: the Capri-Naples, which in 2019 completed the edition number 54 and the 17th from the resumption, which took place in 2003 after eleven years of stop. At the same time, Imshof has announced the postponement of the 2020 edition, scheduled for May 1st in New York, on May 1st 2021, also in the US city.

In the newsletter with which it made the 2022 edition official in Naples, the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame also indicated the date, May 7, revealing the first news related to the event, which will also feature collateral events reserved for guests, speaking of “a complete weekend” up to anticipate “a visit to nearby Pompeii, which should be the bucket list for everyone’s life”.
